Direct conversion technology

The DCiS is the first intraoral sensor on the market to integrate direct conversion technology.

What does this mean?

• Normal sensors are sensitive to visible light, so X-rays are usually converted through a scintillator before being captured by the sensor
• Direct Conversion technology allows the sensor can receive and process X-rays directly
• High resolution images are captured, with excellent contrast levels and low X-ray doses to safeguard patient health
• Plus, the size of the sensor is reduced and its strength is increased, as it doesn't include the traditionally fragile components

Adaptive multivision

• The adaptive multivision software allows you to add filters to your scanned images, so that you can have the best image for your clinical needs
• Choose from presets or create your own custom filters
• Preserve the visibility of soft tissues or increase the contrast of your image
• Caries filter can highlight interproximal caries in bitewing examinations

Enhanced ergonomics

• This size 2 sensor has rounded corners, which are less invasive for the patient
• The active area is wider than in traditional sensors, to increase the scan area
• The sensor is thinner, which takes up less storage space
• The absence of a cable prevents further discomfort for the patient
• Optional accessories allow correct alignment and minimises the irradiated area

Docking station

• The docking station receives data from the sensor via Bluetooth, before forwarding it through a cable to a PC or laptop
• Data transfer and processing takes just a few seconds
• It also acts as a housing and charging base for the sensor when not in use
• Either store on a worktop, or mount on the wall

Positioning

• The alignment system has been specially designed for the sensor and won't add to the footprint
• It ensures patient comfort while mkaing positioning easier
• It also allows the X-ray source to be closer to the patient, reduces the amount of unnecessary exposure to other tissues
